Rev. Roosevelt Pratt
Food Distribution Center

After the unexpected death of 47 yrs old Rev. Roosevelt Pratt in December of 2007, the pastor and members of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church agreed to open the Rev. Roosevelt Pratt Food Distribution Center in his memory on January 20th 2008 through Greater Shiloh Outreach Ministry.

Rev. Pratt was a self employed Carpenter and Painter. He served as a faithful and dependable associated minister of Greater Shiloh. He preach whenever and wherever he was asked, he taught adult Sunday school class, he was active in the men fellowship, worked with youth and was always ready to help wherever he was needed from  painting the church to maintenance.

Rev Pratt was a tireless advocate for the elderly, poor and homeless. He and his friend Rev. Larry L. Brown would spend their own money and take free groceries to the senior citizens living at Muskogee High Rise Apartment. Rev. Pratt and Rev. Brown would also go to the Greyhound bus station late at night and passed out free sandwiches and drinks to travelers passing through. In addition, Rev. Pratt taught bible lessons at two of Muskogee’s nursing Homes, one at 2:00 on Sunday afternoons and the other on Wednesdays at noon. The nursing home residents appreciated and loved Rev. Pratt and he loved them. Rev. Pratt’s would often say, “I’m just not doing enough for the Lord”

Because Rev. Pratt’s service and commitment to his church and the community, Greater Shiloh count it an honor and a privilege to open this food distribution center in his memory. The food distribution center is design to temporarily help low income families and individuals, families dealing with domestic violence or facing natural disaster. I believe this is one of the most tangible ways Greater Shiloh can honor this great man and give back to the community and please God.

I am asking Greater Shiloh Church members, former members and friends of GSMBC to help us stock Rev. Roosevelt Pratt Food Distribution Center with a donation of $5, $10 or $15 or more. With your donations we will be able to provide each family with quality meat, dry foods, can foods and fruit drinks.

You can make your donation neither by mail, GSOM, P O Box 225, Muskogee OK 74401 – 2425. Please make your check payable to GSOM/Foods Distribution or you can use your credit card and log on to ww.greatershiloh.net and look for the donation button. Thank you for helping us to help others.

God bless you,

Pastor Brown, Sr.
